Running

by Henrik (14/08/10) Email

MeI have almost forgotten to mention how my big running race went. It did not go well at all. Got sick the weekend before and I didn't recover from it in time. I made an attempt at running it (as I promised myself) but I stopped after 4 km. I don't think it was only because of the sickness, it was a very hot day and I think I was dehydrated before I even started to run. I'm a little disappointed that I didn't complete the race, but I'm still happy that I choose to participate. It made me run a lot and I tripled the longest distanced I managed to run, from 6 km to 18 km. I'm planing to in next year entering a smaller and shorter race, so I get to feel how it is to complete a race.

A Small Copper butterfly

by Henrik (21/07/10) Email

On Hallands väderö I had the opportunity to photograph a Small Copper butterfly. I had the luck to photograph a lot of butterflies last year, but non of them was a Small Copper. So I was happy to see a butterfly I hadn't photograph before. I was never able to get as close to it as I wanted. I hope I one day I will get a better opportunity.

I got a cactus!

by Henrik (06/07/10) Email

This little cactus is a gift I received on a birthday party. It was not my party, so the gift was totally unexpected. The couple that gave me the cactus had cultivated it from a seed by themselves. They had gotten the seed from another cactus they own that had bloomed. I need to read up on cactus care so that I one day also will have a cactus that blooms.

by Henrik (27/06/10) Email

This year I choose to make decorations for my balcony out of clay. Me and my girlfriend spent a few evenings molding, painting and varnish a couple of clay creations. Here are pictures on all of them.

Removed sub-categories

by Henrik (07/06/10) Email

Today I removed all the sub-categories under "Plant, Garden" and "Plant, House" and added new tags to the posts that belonged to them. Felt the sub-categories started to become to numerous and would one day become two very long lists.

I think it is fitting to end my series of Mayrhofen photos with one from the flight home.

Plants gone (Plants update)

by Henrik (21/02/10) Email

I just wanted to quickly say that this winter I have lost four of my plants. My two Poinsettias and two Benjamin's Figs. As usually not sure why, but it is probably my fault somehow. I'll probably not buy a new Poinsettia until next Christmas, but a new Benjamin's Fig I will buy as soon as I find a new potential bonsai.

Sky lanterns (in memory of Gullberg)

by Henrik (18/01/10) Email

To commemorate the memory of my departed friend Gullberg, me and a few friends spent the evening after Christmas day sending up lantern into the sky. The act of sending up sky lanterns is always a beautiful event, but hard to photograph because of the low light conditions. Below is my three favorite photos from the event. All photos from the event can be found here (Note that the photos below are all cut)

This is the resulting "constellation" of sky lanterns. We sent up a lot of them, but because of strong winds and cloudy sky most of them vanished from view quite quickly.

For 37 days straight.

by Henrik (17/01/10) Email

When I started this blog my unannounced goal was to post four times a month. I did not expect that I one day would have been able to update my blog for 37 days straight. I don't know for how long I will be able to update this often, so don't get used to it. I would imagine that things will come in the way and slow things down. The fact that I failed at achieving my unannounced goal three times, shows that I don't always have the energy, time or interest needed.

The Mask

by Henrik (08/01/10) Email

Because I don't think there are enough photos of me on this blog, I'm posting this picture of me in a homemade mask. I made it because I was invited to a party were everybody was required to wear a mask. The mask was quickly made from a few pieces of paper and some cloth flowers.

by Henrik (05/01/10) Email

This is the third vegetable plants I received on my birthday and it is about time I make a quick post about it. It's was a physalis plant and it was the easiest of the three to cultivate. It gave me many tasty fruits to eat.
